NEXT GENERATION ELECTRONIC
OPERATION SYSTEM (NEOPS-3D)
LESS IS MORE – SEE INTO THE THIRD DIMENSION WITH COMPACT HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
Recently, the Centre for Neurosurgery took delivery of a unique state-of-the-art surgical system which yields high-resolution microscopic and, for the first time, real endoscopic 3D images. It also allows a seamless transition between the microscopic view from the outside and the endoscopic view from the inside. The miniaturised “eye” is constructed from the latest optical and electronic hybrid technology and is mounted on a robot arm, which allows the precise positioning of the system outside as well as the finest and intelligent movements inside the surgical area. The setting of a position that is automatically approached in critical situations also increases efficiency and safety.
With the NEOPS 3D, practically all cranial and spinal diseases can be treated. This technique is particularly beneficial for skull-base tumours (meningiomas and acoustic neuromas), cranial nerve diseases (trigeminal neuralgia, facial spasm) and cerebral vascular aneurysms. The use of NEOPS 3D has enabled a significant increase in effectiveness, even in the most difficult procedures, and a significant improvement in ergonomics. The resolution also has greater depth and the 3D effect is more pronounced, due to the shorter distance between the lens and the lesion.
Klinik Hirslanden Zürich is one of the first clinics in the world to regularly use this system for head and spine operations.
